Coco Gauff opened up about her mindset about the Australian Open 2025
Coco Gauff spoke about her mindset about the Australian Open after her victory at the United Cup against Iga Swiatek. She revealed that after a great start to the year, she is feeling confident about the upcoming tournament.
Reflecting upon her previous performances, she opened up about the belief in herself. Gauff said as quoted by Forbes:
"Obviously, the start of the season gives me a lot of confidence. I feel like when I'm playing confident tennis, I'm playing great tennis. I definitely feel confident going into AO. Honestly, before every Grand Slam, I have the belief that I can win. And especially after the US Open, I proved that I could do it. I definitely have a belief that I can win."
She added:
"I'm realizing more and more each day that tennis is not a measure of my value as a person. I think the more you realize that the more relaxed these tournaments become. I'm still going to experience pressure. It's easier said than done.”
Coco Gauff concluded her 2024 season by competing at the WTA Finals, where she squared off against Qinwen Zheng. The American experienced several ups and downs in the previous season, having faced early exits in the Cincinnati Masters, the Canadian Open, Wimbledon, and in a few other tournaments.
