Jannik Sinner celebrated with his team as he won his second consecutive Australian Open title. The Italian defended his title successfully by defeating Alexander Zverev in the final in straight sets.

On Sunday, January 26, Sinner took to Rod Laver Arena in search of his third Grand Slam title and second consecutive Australian Open title. Meanwhile, his opponent Zverev was playing in his third Grand Slam final and hoping to win his maiden title.

The match featured some extraordinary play with long rallies as both competitors refused to give in. After multiple service games won, Sinner broke Zverev to lead 5-3 and served to win the set. The second set went into a tiebreaker and it was the Italian again who triumphed to be one set away from the title.

In the third set, the World No. 1 broke Zverev once again to take a 4-2 lead, ultimately securing a 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3 victory. Following his triumph, Sinner rushed to his team, where he shared an emotional celebration with them. His coaches, Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill embraced him, marking a heartwarming moment of victory.

Sinner now joins Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic as the only men's singles players to win back-to-back titles in Melbourne in the 21st Century.

During his victory speech, Jannik Sinner expressed deep appreciation for his team.

"What can I say? We worked a lot to be again in this position. It's an amazing feeling to share this moment with all of you. I know also a part of the team is at home and then my family and everyone, but it's amazing to achieve these things, but mostly and to share this with you guys," Jannik Sinner said.

Talking directly to his coach Darren Cahill, who will be retiring at the end of the year, Sinner said:

"I know there and it's your... Probably, maybe I tried to convince you... But it's your last Australian Open as a coach, and I'm very, very happy to share this trophy with you."

News about this being Cahill's final year on tour broke out during the Australian Open and Sinner stated that he felt "very fortunate, as well as very happy, to be his final player on the circuit."

Cahill has coached several high-profile players on the ATP and the WTA tours including the likes of Lleyton Hewitt, Andre Agassi, Andy Murray, Ana Ivanovic, and Simona Halep.
