Corentin Moutet pulled off an extraordinary trickshot at the Hangzhou Open during his first-round loss to Roberto Carballes Baena. The Frenchman had the crowd on its feet with the shot but could not manage a win.
Moutet started his outing in Hangzhou against Baena strongly and went on to take a 5-3 lead in the first set. He was serving for the match when he played a trick shot as the ball looped high and was set to bounce close to the net.
Moutet pulled off an insane shot from behind his back. It was extremely well-timed and went just over the net to earn him the point. The Hangzhou crowd applauded the genius of the 25-year-old.

However, soon after this point, it all went south for the Frenchman. Baena broke Moutet at 3-5 and pulled off an impressive comeback to force a tiebreaker. Eventually, the Spaniard prevailed in the first set in 87 minutes before comfortably closing out the second set to bring up a 7-6(6), 6-1 victory.
Moutet dropped out of the Top 100 last September and, despite an underwhelming season, he has managed to regain some ranking points through a few impressive performances. Known for his temper and impulsive decisions, the Frenchman believes he’s starting to change that perception this year.

One of Corentin Moutet's standout performances came this year at his home Slam in Paris. He got the better of Nicolas Jarry, Alexander Shevchenko, and Sebastian Ofner before facing defeat against Jannik Sinner in the fourth round. It was Moutet's best performance at the French Open.
During his press conference after the fourth-round exit, Moutet reflected on changing his image.
"There are many positive things to draw from. I'm happy to have changed my image during my tournament, or rather I don't know if I did but I think I succeeded in something," Moutet said.
"People only know us for what we do on the pitch and therefore they all have a particular image of me but the reality is that I work very hard to achieve my results. However, I'm happy, I've kept a positive attitude and I've received a lot of love from the crowd," he added.
The 25-year-old is now ranked World No. 69 and has already demonstrated remarkable talent on the court, highlighted by his impressive trick shot. With his potential and skill, he will aim to reach new heights in his career.
