Frances Tiafoe hilariously photobombed Jannik Sinner's photoshoot with the Cincinnati Open trophy after their final. Sinner ousted the American 7-6(4), 6-2 in an hour and 36 minutes to clinch his second Masters 1000 of the season.

Tiafoe, who has been struggling with a slump in his form this season, managed to find some rhythm at the Cincinnati Open. He made an honest admission about his 'tough' year after his quarterfinal win and said that he was in a different place now and welcomed whatever life threw at him.

“It's been a tough year man, it's been a tough year,” Tiafoe said. "Yeah, pretty much since the end of my US Open (2023) run, what I haven't won 4 matches in a row since then so… yeah, it's been tough but I'm in a different place right now in my life. Happy to have everything that comes my way good, bad, different, kinda gets rolled with the punches.”

The American managed huge wins over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Lorenzo Mussetti, Jiri Lehecka, Hubert Hurkacz (retired), and Holger Rune in the semifinals to reach his maiden Masters 1000 final where the 26-year-old played top seed Jannik Sinner in the summit clash. However, the in-form Italian proved too good for Tiafoe and ousted him in straight sets to clinch the title.

After the trophy presentation, when Sinner was getting clicked by the media alongside his team, Frances Tiafoe came up beside the Italian and hilariously photobombed his shoot by posing with a middle finger, leaving the World No. 1 and his team in splits.

During his runner-up speech, Frances Tiafoe congratulated Jannik Sinner for his win and for reaching the World No. 1 ranking. He also joked saying the Italian never loses. The American then wished Sinner the best for the upcoming US Open and hilariously asked the Italian to let him win if they played at Flushing Meadows.

“I guess I gotta congratulate Jannik man. Congrats for everything you’ve been doing... Getting to No. 1 in the world. And pretty much never losing ever. Keep going.. all the best in New York. If we play, don’t beat me in New York,” Tiafoe said.

Frances Tiafoe and Jannik Sinner are next scheduled to play at the 2024 US Open where Sinner will be the top seed.
