Naomi Osaka is getting ready for the Australian Open by giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most fascinating aspects of professional tennis. In a new video, the four-time Grand Slam champion figures out how an umpire chair works. She took a moment to sit in the place reserved for umpires in every match.

Osaka is looking to win a third Australian Open title this year. The star from Japan surprised the world when she won her first Grand Slam title in New York in 2018. She beat Serena Williams in a heated final to add her name to the sport's history.

The video shared by Osaka features her sitting in a chair designed to be occupied by an umpire. She proceeds to unlock the tablet installed on the chair, with her coach Patrick Mouratoglou joking she could watch Netflix while working as an umpire thanks to the device.

The working relationship between Naomi Osaka and Patrick Mouratoglou began last year. The pair is looking to allow her to win more Grand Slam titles during the current stage of her career, years after the tennis star managed to win four Major tournaments. The Australian Open first round is only a couple of days away.

The Australian Open remains one of the most special tournaments in Naomi Osaka's career. The player has triumphed in Melbourne twice, winning the event in 2019 and 2021. She was on top of the world when she won her first Australian Open. She had recently beaten Serena Williams for the U.S. Open title, and the world was eyeing her next move.

The Australian Open also marks the last time Osaka won a Grand Slam title. The WTA circuit was still in a strange time period thanks to the pandemic when she beat Jennifer Brady in order to win her second trophy in Melbourne. Osaka will fight for a third Australian Open title four years after that victory,

Osaka will face Caroline Garcia in the first round of this year's Australian Open. The players are tied in previous encounters, with each WTA star taking two victories each. The last time Osaka played against Garcia was in last year's edition of the Miami Open, where Garcia prevailed during a tough match.
