Serbia faced Denmark in their final Euro 2024 Group C game, a crucial match with high stakes for both teams. A victory would secure a chance to advance to the round of 16 and it was a do-or-die situation for the Serbs.

However, a moment that captured the attention of tennis fans was when Novak Djokovic showed his support for the Serbian football team. Before the match, the World No.1 greeted and cheered on the players from the sidelines. He shook hands with them and even hugged some of them.

Novak Djokovic took a brief break from his Wimbledon preparations to attend the match between Serbia and Denmark in Munich.

The Serb recently underwent knee surgery after sustaining a medial meniscus tear in his right knee during the 2024 French Open. Since the surgery, he has been gradually easing back into training and hitting the practice courts in anticipation of competing at the prestigious grasscourt Grand Slam.

After his surgery and some recovery, Djokovic traveled to London to continue his training for Wimbledon. Speaking to the press, he expressed that he is optimistic about the progress of his knee rehabilitation and that it is improving slowly but steadily. He stated that this positive development has given him hope to push forward and compete at SW19.

The plan was to try to play Wimbledon, so that's what I'm doing. That's why I came to train and see how it goes. I can't give many details about the knee, but it's going well. The rehabilitation is going in the right direction every day. Little by little it's getting better. It's what's giving me hope and desire to move forward," Novak Djokovic said

The former World No.1 stated that his goal is not merely to participate in Wimbledon but to perform at his best. He also made it clear that he will only take to the court if he feels fully prepared and confident in his ability to play to his full potential

"I didn't come here to get through a few rounds. I'm going to play if I'm sure. I'm going to take it day by day, based on how I am, how I feel and if I can play my best. If I can't play, I'll hit someone else that opportunity," he added.

Novak Djokovic also revealed that he will only compete at the Wimbledon Championships if he believes he can contend for the title. He stated that his condition is improving and that he is in London with the approval of his medical team

"I'm only going to play if I'm in a position to go far and fight for the title. I'm not pushing myself to the limit, but I hope that happens in the next few days. I wouldn't be here without the permission of the doctors," he said
