Novak Djokovic was recently seen arriving at the US Open in high spirits ahead of his title defense there. The Serb will be aiming to secure his fifth New York Slam title and a record-extending 25th Grand Slam title.

This season has been a mixed bag for Djokovic at the Grand Slam tournaments. At the Australian Open, he reached the semifinals before losing to eventual champion Jannik Sinner. This marked his first loss in a Melbourne Slam semifinal or final.

The former World No.1 then reached the quarterfinals at the French Open but had to withdraw due to a torn medial meniscus in his right knee which he suffered during his fourth-round match. At Wimbledon, he made it to the final before losing the title to Carlos Alcaraz.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion, who will defend his title at the 2024 US Open, having won the Slam last year by defeating Daniil Medvedev in the final, will enter the New York Slam this year on the back of a gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

After winning the gold medal, the Serb opted out of competing at two ATP Masters 1000 hard court tournaments, the 2024 Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open which would have acted as preparatory tournaments to the US Open. He is seeded second in this year's US Open.

Recently, Novak Djokovic was seen arriving at the US Open. He was spotted getting down from a car with a big smile and warmly greeting those who were there to welcome him.

Last year, Novak Djokovic entered the US Open as the second seed. He kicked off his campaign by defeating Alexandre Muller 6-0, 6-2, 6-3 in the first round, followed by a strong victory over Bernabe Zapata Miralles at 6-4, 6-1, 6-1 in the second.

The Serb then overcame 32nd seed and compatriot Laslo Djere 4-6, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 and qualifier Borna Gojo 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 in the third and fourth rounds respectively.

In the quarterfinals, the 24-time Grand Slam champion secured a convincing victory against ninth seed Taylor Fritz at 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 and then registered a 6-3, 6-2, 7-6(4) win against Ben Shelton in the semifinals to advance to the final.

At the championship match, Novak Djokovic defeated third seed Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-3 to claim his fourth US Open title and his 24th Grand Slam title overall.
