Novak Djokovic has commenced his preparations for the upcoming 2023 Paris Masters. He was recently spotted practicing on the court with fellow Serb Hamad Medjedovic.

Following his third Grand Slam title of the season at the New York Major, Djokovic announced he would take a brief hiatus from the tour. The World No. 1 skipped the Asian swing and did not defend his Astana Open title. However, he led the Serbian squad at the Davis Cup Finals, helping them reach the knockout stage.

With preparations in full swing, the Serb will be keen to add yet another title to his tally at the Masters 1000 event in Paris. Medjedovic, who recently crashed out in the Swiss Indoors Basel qualifiers, partnered the 36-year-old for the training session in Belgrade, Serbia.

Djokovic narrowly missed out on the title last year. He cruised to the semifinals after registering comprehensive straight-set wins against Maxime Cressy, Karen Khachanov, and Lorenzo Musetti. He defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas, 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 in the semifinal before falling to Holger Rune, 6-3, 3-6, 5-7, in the summit clash.

Novak Djokovic has been financially assisting Hamad Medjedovic over the years. He has taken it upon himself to help the youngster follow his dream without having to worry about putting any burden on his family.

Medjedovic appears to be making the most of the support as he enjoyed a stellar season in 2023. The young Serb, who started the year outside the top 250, rose 148 spots in the rankings to World No. 107.

He also made his debut Grand Slam appearance this year at the French Open, where he suffered a first-round defeat against Marcos Giron.

Medjedovic recently conveyed his admiration for the World No. 1 who has been constantly backing the youngster in all ways possible.

"He has been helping me out financially. Giving me whatever I need for my career. He covered it all. He just helped me out when I needed it and is still helping me out in all types of ways. I’m glad he’s there for me," Medjedovic told Sportal.

Medjedovic initially grabbed Djokovic's attention after pulling off extraordinary results on the junior tour. He was then invited to the Novak Tennis Centre and has since received constant support from the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
