Rafael Nadal was spotted exchanging high-fives with Iga Swiatek while making his way out from a practice session at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Carlos Alcaraz had also joined the duo for a casual conversation at Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Nadal is potentially in his final season as a professional player and this will be his fourth appearance at the Games. He has won two gold medals at the Olympics - one in the singles category at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and another at the doubles category at the 2016 Rio Olympics alongside Marc Lopez.

Meanwhile, Swiatek made her Olympic debut in 2021 at the Tokyo Olympics. She was seeded sixth in the tournament and had begun her campaign with a dominant victory over Germany's Mona Barthel (6-2, 6-2) in the first round. However, her journey came to an end in the second round when she was defeated by Paula Badosa 3-6, 6-7(4).

On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz will be making his Olympic debut in Paris. He is coming into the tournament on the back of two consecutive Grand Slam title wins, the 2024 French Open and the Wimbledon Championships. The World No.3 will play in both the singles and doubles events and will partner with Nadal for the latter.

Recently, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz had a practice session at Court Philippe-Chatrier at Roland Garros. After their session, on his way out of the court, Nadal saw Iga Swiatek getting ready to start her own practice session. The 22-time Grand Slam champion exchanged a high-five with the World No.1 before leaving the court.

While talking about competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Rafael Nadal stated that he is eagerly looking forward to representing Spain at the Games. He also said that he knows that if he performs well in the singles then he will also play well in the doubles category.

"I'm really looking forward to being part of the Olympic team and representing Spain. This is the most important event in sport, I hope I can find the energy I need and do good training. I know that if I can play good tennis on an individual level, I'll do well in doubles too," Nadal said [via Punto de Break].

Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek said that she is confident that she will be able to perform better at the Games this year as she is familiar with the venue, Roland Garros, a surface on which she has won the French Open four times.

I'm going to know the venue. It's going to be on my favorite surface. On the other hand, these also bring up more expectations from the outside. I guess I'll have to do the same kind of work as I do on every other tournament," Swiatek said [via WTATennis.com].

On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz stated that he is looking forward to competing at the Olympics and is eager to learn from the 22-time Grand Slam champion, who has extensive experience of competing at the Olympics in both the singles and doubles events.

"I'm not nervous right now. When the time comes, I will be. And yes, obviously, he's already experienced this, he already knows what it's like to play in the Olympics, to win a gold in both singles and doubles. I'm new, I'm the rookie here, so I have to keep my mouth shut and just listen to him," Alacaraz said (via ABC Sports).
