Jannik Sinner received an exceptional welcome from tennis greats like Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Bjorn Borg and Andre Agassi and many more to the legendary 'World No. 1' club. His well-wishers shared heartwarming messages for the 22-year-old Italian.

On Monday, June 10, Jannik Sinner became the World No. 1 on the ATP rankings for the first time, dethroning 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic. He is the first Italian to achieve the feat.

The Association of Tennis Players (ATP) released a special video for the newly crowned World No. 1, featuring some of the legendary tennis players who also made it to the top spot during their respective careers, including Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, Bjorn Borg and Andy Murray, celebrating Sinner's achievement.

Take a look at the the clip here -

Eight-time Grand Slam winner Andre Agassi opens the video with some nice words for Sinner and offers an interesting hypothesis - the Italian would represent Earth if the universe had a tennis tournament.

"Hey Jannik, Andre here. Let me be one of many to congratulate you on being the No. 1 tennis player in the world. That is one heck of an achievement and I can't think of anybody that deserves it more than you. Here's kind of a cool way to look at it - if the universe had a tennis tournament, Earth would pick you. How cool is that? Enjoy. Keep getting better, you're awesome for the game."

'Swiss maestro', Roger Federer joins in to congratulate the 22-year-old, saying that he is proud of him and and that he hopes his country loves him for being the first Italian to reach the No. 1 spot.

"Hey Jannik, many congratulations also from my side to become World No. 1. I think this is for me, personally, maybe the ultimate achievement. And I'm sure you are incredibly happy and you should be so proud. I'm sure, also, Italy is loving you right now as they should, being the first Italian player ever to be World No. 1. It's incredible. I couldn't be more happier for you. You're a great person, great player, and I wish you only the best for the future, Jannik. Take care. I'll see you soon. Bye."

Another former World No. 1, Andy Roddick tips his hat to the reigning Australian Open champion in the video.

"Jannik Sinner. Congratulations. Andy Roddick here. Just wanted to give a huge shoutout on this monumental accomplishment. I know, that it takes a lifetime of work and I also know the Tour never stops. I hope you find, a little bit of time to sit back and take in what you've accomplished getting to No. 1 in the World. Wow, I promise you no one can ever take it away from you.
From where I sit, it has been an absolute pleasure to watch the way that you act, the way that you've improved, the way that you strive for greatness, already at such a young age, I hope to see many more years of it. And please, give our best to your team, because we also know that no one can do it alone. But congrats and I hope you take some time and really soak it in."

Bjorn Borg, who became the World No. 1 in 1977, praises Sinner for the achievement, expressing hope for Sinner to hold on to his No. 1 ranking.

"1973, when the ATP rankings came out, the big thing was to be the No. 1 player in the world. That's one of the most important things. And I have to say, Jannik, you are No. 1 player in the world. And congratulations to you, because I know how difficult it is to be the best player in the world. And I hope you're going to stay for a long time. I know you have a new generation coming after you, but you made a point and hope you're going to stay for many weeks to come."

After Sinner replaced Djokovic at the top, the Serb has slipped to the third position. 2024 French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz earned the second spot after his win.

"I think it's the biggest meaning we have in our sport. It's the best number you can have. This is everyone's dream, to be in the position. Being No. 1 in the world is an achievement that you build in one year's time. And now obviously, we'll see how much I can stay there, and then that's a different challenge.”

Sinner will be gearing up for the upcoming grass season that culminates with the Wimbledon Championships. The 22-year-old lost to Novak Djokovic in the semifinals at the Major last year.
