Roger Federer recently recreated his bow-straightening moment with Rafael Nadal, this time with Carlos Alcaraz during the 2024 Laver Cup black carpet event. While this is Alcaraz's debut appearance at the tournament, Federer has claimed the Laver Cup title three times while Nadal has been a part of two title-winning campaigns with Team Europe.

The 2024 Laver Cup will be taking place at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany, from September 20 to September 22, 2024. This year marks the seventh edition of the tournament, with Team Europe holding the record for the most titles won at four, while Team World has secured two .

Team World will be aiming to win their third consecutive title after winning in 2022 at the O2 Arena in London, England, and in 2023 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

Team Europe features players like Casper Ruud, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Grigor Dimitrov, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Flavio Cobolli, and Jan-Lennard Struff. Whereas, Team World has the likes of Thanasi Kokkinakis, Ben Shelton, Alejandro Tabilo, Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Fritz, and Francisco Cerúndolo.

During the Laver Cup black carpet event, held just before the commence of the tournament, Roger Federer was seen with Carlos Alcaraz. While a member of the Spaniard's team attempted to fix his bow tie, Federer stepped in to help, resulting in a lighthearted moment that left the 21-year-old laughing out loud.

This heartwarming gesture was reminiscent of the time when Roger Federer had assisted his longtime on-court rival Rafael Nadal, in straightening his bow tie during an event.

Carlos Alcaraz on playing at Laver Cup 2024: "It's a privilege to be surrounded by the legends from our sport"

While speaking at a press conference ahead of the commencement of the 2024 Laver Cup, Carlos Alcaraz expressed that playing in the tournament, with some of the legends of tennis like Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe and Rod Laver being present in the arena will be his "privilege."

"For me it's a privilege to be surrounded by Bjorn, by McEnroe, Rod Laver, the legends from our sport who top the tennis in the top of the sport. So for me, to just try to learn from them so closely, and obviously here in the Laver Cup, I think it's a really beautiful tournament that I'm gonna try to enjoy as much as I can," Alcaraz said.

Alcaraz revealed that his intention is to soak up as much knowledge as possible from these iconic figures and to savor every moment of the tournament in Berlin.

"With my partners, we used to fight against each other during the whole tournament. Now in this tournament we're gonna cheer on each other. It's gonna be a beautiful thing that I'm gonna try to enjoy, but yeah, I'm gonna try to learn from them as well as much as I can," he added .

To kick off his Laver Cup journey, Carlos Alcaraz will team up with Alexander Zverev for a doubles match against Team World's Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton.
