Swiatek, aged 23, became the youngest to win at least four women's singles championships at Roland Garros in the Open Era history. She has joined the likes of Chris Evert, Steffi Graf and Justine Henin in the coveted list.

The Pole screamed in jubilation at her team box with her fists clenched as soon as Paolini's backhand on the championship point landed long on Court Philippe Chatrier. The cameras captured the priceless moment and Roland Garros' X (formerly Twitter) account wasted no time in sharing it with tennis fans across the globe.

Iga Swiatek faced stern resistance from Jasmine Paolini in the early stages of the match as she had her serve broken in the third game. She, however, struck back immediately to return on serve after the fourth game.

The Pole then converted two more break points in the sixth and eighth games to clinch the opening set of the summit clash in 37 minutes. By the end of the first set, Swiatek had blunted Paolini's attack as she raced to a 5-0 lead in the second.

The Italian managed to hold her serve in the sixth game to avoid a bagel but couldn't delay her doom. Swiatek won the following game to secure a 6-2, 6-1 win less than 70 minutes after the battle began.

This is notably the Pole's fifth Grand Slam trophy since turning pro in the year 2016. Also, she extended her head-to-head lead over Jasmine Paolini to 3-0 with the win.

The top seed's chances suffered a great threat as she took the court against former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka in the second round. She was forced to save a match point on her way to securing a 7-6(1), 1-6, 7-5 win to stay afloat in the tournament.

After the Osaka scare, however, Iga Swiatek breezed past one opponent after the other as she didn't drop a single set until the end. She overcame Marie Bouzkova 6-4, 6-2 in the third round, Anastasia Potapova 6-0, 6-0 in the fourth, Marketa Vondrousova 6-0, 6-2 in the quarterfinals, and Coco Gauff 6-2, 6-4 in the semis.
