Serena Williams recently cherished a serene moment with her daughter Olympia, as the duo enjoyed each other's quiet company. The former World No. 1 took time from her busy schedule to savor the special bonding experience.
Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, are very involved in their daughters' lives. From volunteering to take part in Olympia's ballet recital to organizing fun trips to Disney World for the seven-year-old and her younger sister Adira, the couple makes an effort to prioritize family time. The Reddit co-founder recently made memories with Olympia while "shanking balls" on the golf course, followed by a fun art session.
Meanwhile, Serena Williams shared a heartwarming moment on social media, posting a clip of herself and Olympia gently swinging together against a scenic backdrop. The 23-time Grand Slam champion fondly reflected on "feeling good" as she spent quality time with her daughter.
"Just another day around the way…. Feeling good today @olympiaohanian," she captioned her Instagram post.
The former World No. 1 recently shared a glimpse of how her life had changed since retiring from professional tennis. She documented her hectic experience of "chasing after" Adira, helping Olympia with tennis lessons, and cooking for her family, while also making time for business calls.
"My life is very different now. Instead of chasing balls, I’m chasing #Adira and helping #Olympia with tennis lessons and cooking. (And, all this is in-between Venture Capital calls)," she posted on X.
Serena Williams has previously spoken about the importance of dedicating time to her daughters, even admitting that she was "obsessed with those kids" and calling them her "biggest love."
Serena Williams: "Just hanging out with my girls and spending time with them is an achievement"
In an interview with Glamour earlier this year, Serena Williams made a candid admission about having to choose between playing tennis and having a family, revealing that she prioritized being a mother to Olympia and Adira.
"That's a good one. I think at some point you do have to choose if you want to have kids, but for me, I decided to choose being a mom," Serena Williams said.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion also emphasized that simply spending time with her children and being present for them was her greatest achievement.
"I never thought I would say that. But just hanging out with my girls and spending time with them and just showing up every day is an achievement, and it's not easy. I can't think of anything else that I achieved that's better or greater than that," she added.
Williams has also expressed her desire for Olympia and Adira to build a strong bond, disclosing that she "prayed every night that the girls stay close and have a true relationship with God."
