Serena Williams showed off her incredible fitness transformation by sharing the finale of the 'Jean Skirt' saga. This journey began earlier this year when she attempted to fit into a skirt with her post-pregnancy body following the birth of her second daughter, Adira River Ohanian.
Williams met Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in May 2015, and they got engaged in 2016. Their first daughter, Olympia Ohanian was born on September 1, 2017, and they tied the knot two months later on November 16, 2017, in New Orleans. Their youngest daughter, Adira was born in August 2023.
Recently, Serena Williams took to social media to share a video of herself trying on a long Valentino jeans skirt and she captioned the post stating that the video marked the end of the jeans skirt saga.
“The “Jean Skirt” finale ✨ ," Williams captioned her Instagram post.
In the video, the former World No.1 is seen attempting to put on the skirt all the while noting its lack of stretch. Despite her initial doubts, the skirt ended up fitting her perfectly, all thanks to her fitness transformation.
“Hey everyone! I have an audience today for this big moment maybe. Will it or will it not? Last time I tried it out, it was tight. Zero stretch. Oh that feels better already. It just fits though. An ounce more and it wouldn't. I am just a skittle away from a laffy taffy or a skittle away from it being not okay. I have to give myself credit,” Williams said.
Earlier in the year, Williams had shared a video of her struggling to fit into the same skirt with her post-pregnancy body. She was determined to make a change and had said that she will commit to working out and eventually achieved her goal of fitting into the skirt.
“The Diary of a Denim skirt (part 1) #valentino," Williams captioned her video.
Months later, the 23-time Grand Slam champion shared another video, demonstrating her progress as the skirt now fit her much better than before, with her successfully closing the button.
“Ok everyone the jean skirt is baaaaaaackkkkkk. Paris was fun, but I gotta see if I can fit in this skirt yet - saying a little prayer…lol," the former World No.1 wrote.
Serena Williams retired from the sport in September 2022 after playing her final professional match at the US Open. She bid farewell to the sport after losing to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round of the New York Major.
