WATCH: Serena Williams hilariously 'throws in the towel' after trying Da' Bomb hot sauce for the first time, forbids daughter Olympia from trying it

Serena Williams recently tried Da Bomb hot sauce for the first time. The American appeared on a YouTube show Hot Ones where she tried the spicy sauce.

Williams has ramped up her media appearance since her retirement from tennis after the 2022 US Open. She has been on magazine covers and attended various fashion events like Met Gala, and Paris Fashion Week, among others.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion recently appeared on Hot Ones, a YouTube show on the First We Feast channel, and tried the Da Bomb hot sauce.

The sauce was highly pungent and was seemingly above her spice tolerance. The American hilariously 'threw in her towel' as the sauce was too spicy for her to handle.

"That one’s hot, that one’s really hot. That’s hot. And I didn’t even take a big bite of that. Who’s eating that? Holy hot. Oh my god. I don’t know how to recover from that. What you do to recover? I need to stand up. I am throwing in the towel. How you do that?" she said.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion drank milk to reduce the after-effects of the sauce but that did not help so she added ice to her milk. She said:

"Some ice, I was wondering why you had the ice here."

Williams also disallowed her daughter Olympia from tasting the sauce.

"Olympia, you can’t have that one," she said.

She then tried to eat ice cream to help but she suffered a heartburn.

"I took a bite and I instantly got a heartburn. I don’t need to wait for it and I took those heartburn pills too," Williams said.

The American then hilariously asked if she was going to face any trouble going to the bathroom.

"You know what, will I have trouble going to bathroom later? Has anyone called to complain later," she inquired.

Williams made her feelings clear about trying the sauce when the host Sean Evans asked her how was she feeling. She said she wanted to punch him, adding that she controlled herself well due to her experience of attending multiple press conferences.

"I really feel like punching you but, it's okay, I have that control from the press conference," she joked.

Serena Williams recently joked about the questions asked in press conferences, especially after a one-sided encounter when she appeared on Hot Ones and First We Feast channel.

Williams joked that tennis players sometimes had to bite their tongue in front of the media as they couldn't say whatever 'automatically popped up in their mind'.

"The things you want to say that automatically pop up in your mind, like, 'Well, you won 6-0, 6-0, how do you think your opponent played?' Well, she played terrible!" Serena Williams said.

"Or else I wouldn't have won, you know? But you can't say that. 'Why did you lose today, Serena?' Well, because I sucked."

Serena Williams retired from tennis after losing to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round at the 2022 US Open.
