Serena Williams wakes up from tennis slumber amid US Open, shows off her skills in new practice session

Serena Williams recently returned to the court and showed off her tennis skills during a new practice session. Williams played the final match of her professional career at the 2022 US Open.

Williams is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. She had accumulated an impressive total of 39 Grand Slam titles throughout her career, which included 23 titles in singles, 14 titles in women's doubles, and two in mixed doubles events. She also achieved the World No. 1 ranking in both singles and doubles in her career and she is also the only player to complete a Career Golden Slam in both the categories.

Serena Williams concluded her illustrious career at the 2022 US Open, where she reached the third round before being defeated by Ajla Tomljanovic 5-7, 7-6, 1-6.

In addition to her Grand Slam success, Serena Williams has also secured four Olympic gold medals, one in singles and three in doubles, the latter of which she won alongside her sister, Venus Williams.

Williams claimed the singles gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics by defeating Maria Sharapova 6-0, 6-1 in the final. Her first doubles Olympic medal came at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where she and Venus Williams triumphed over the Dutch pair of Kristie Boogert and Miriam Oremans 6–1, 6–1 in the final.

The Williams sisters' second gold medal came at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where they defeated Spaniards Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual 6–2, 6–0. Their final doubles gold medal was secured at the 2012 London Olympics, where they emerged victorious against the Czech Republic's Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka 6–4, 6–4.

Serena Williams won her last Grand Slam in 2017 at the Australian Open

Serena Williams won her final singles Grand Slam title at the 2017 Australian Open. She was seeded second and kicked off her campaign by defeating Belinda Bencic 6-4, 6-3, and then Lucie Safarova 6-3, 6-4 in the first and second rounds, respectively.

Williams continued her winning streak by overcoming compatriot Nicole Gibbs 6-1, 6-3, and then triumphing over 16th seed Barbora Strycova 7-5, 6-4 in the fourth round. In the quarterfinals, the former World No.1 defeated ninth seed Johanna Konta 6-2, 6-3 and then registered a 6-2, 6-1 win over Mirjana Lucic-Baroni in the semifinals to secure her spot in the final.

At the summit clash, Serena Williams faced off against her sister, 13th-seeded Venus Williams, and emerged victorious with a score of 6-4, 6-4 to claim her 23rd singles Grand Slam title and her seventh Australian Open title. It was later revealed that Serena was nearly eight weeks pregnant with her first daughter, Olympia Ohanian, during the tournament.

Williams won her last doubles Grand Slam title in 2016 at the Wimbledon Championships. She had partnered with Venus Williams and defeated the pair of Tímea Babos and Yaroslava Shvedova 6–3, 6–4 in the final to win the title. This marked Serena's seventh Wimbledon doubles title and the Williams sisters' sixth. This also brought their total Grand Slam doubles titles to 14.
