Serena Williams is ready to start the new year in high spirits and showcased her emotions to fans with a display of unreal athleticism.

The ex-tennis pro, donning black and green, leaped into the air and clicked her heels together with a smile plastered on her face, in a move designed to prove to everyone she's not slowed down in any way since retirement.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Williams shared the video, adding a caption:

"Jumping into the new year like..."

Interestingly, the video was accompanied by one of the most popular songs from last summer. Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso" made a statement in the musical scene just a few months ago, and Serena Williams decided to use this song to welcome 2025.

By the time she had decided to bring her professional tennis career to a close in 2022, Williams had won 23 singles Grand Slam titles, the most by any woman in the Open Era. Only Novak Djokovic and Margaret Court have won more than the American in tennis history, with 24 titles apiece (Djokovic in Open Era).

After winning yet another Australian Open in 2017, Serena Williams announced that she would be momentarily stepping away from the sport due to her pregnancy. It would take more than a year for Serena Williams to return to the court after the birth of her baby.

While it took some time for the player to return to form, Williams continued to prove to the world why she's considered one of the best athletes to ever pick up a racquet. Unfortunately, although she came close on four occassions, the former World No. 1 could not add a Major title to her name after that.

Quickly afterwards, Serena Williams announced that she would play a short farewell tour that would culminate at the US Open. The tournament allowed Williams to score the final big win of her career by taking out Anett Kontaveit in the second round.

Williams eventually lost to Ajla Tomljanović in the third round at Flushing Meadows. More than two years after retiring as a professional tennis player, Serena Williams is still ready to take on new challenges outside the court, and the 23-time Grand Slam champ has made a name for herself in the world of business investments.
