Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi recently issued a 'Game of Thrones'-style warning to Andy Roddick and Eugenie Bouchard ahead of their showdown at Pickleball Slam 3 in 2025. The pair of Graf and Agassi will be defending their title in the event.
The Pickleball Slam 3 is scheduled to take place on February 16, 2025, at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The players will be playing for a $1 million prize purse.
Agassi will be making his third appearance at the Pickleball Slam after competing in 2023 and 2024. On the other hand, Roddick (who participated in 2023) and Graf (who played in 2024) will be returning for their second time, while Bouchard will be making her tournament debut.
Andy Roddick will be teaming up with Eugenie Bouchard and will be aiming to dethrone the defending champions, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.
Recently, the official social media account of the Pickleball Slam shared a video of Graf and Agassi, who were seen issuing a challenge to Roddick and Bouchard while referencing Game of Thrones.
“We got a message for you, Andy and Genie, February 16th..." Agassi said.
“Winter is coming," Graf added.
The Pickleball Slam also shared the video on their Instagram story with the caption:
“Winter is coming... 😳 🥶 ."
The first Pickleball Slam was played in 2023 and it saw Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick defeat the duo of John McEnroe and Michael Chang by claiming a 3-1 win at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.
At Pickleball Slam 2, Agassi teamed up with his wife Graf and Jack Sock to win the title by triumphing over the team of John McEnroe, Maria Sharapova and James Blake.
“Andre Agassi kicked me out and went on with his business" - When Andy Roddick joked about the American legend replacing him with wife Steffi Graf for Pickleball Slam
Earlier this year, Andy Roddick made a lighthearted comment about Andre Agassi replacing him with his wife, Steffi Graf, at the Pickleball Slam 2. Roddick joked that it was "weird" for him to see Agassi swapping him out for Graf, especially after Roddick had helped Agassi win the inaugural edition of the event.
Roddick expressed that he understood Agassi's decision to bring in Graf as she is "the best of all time."
“It was a weird thing for me to just totally carry Andre [Agassi] to victory and then he just kind of, I think he just kind of kicked me out of the event and went on with his business. I guess that’s what happens when you have a wife who's the best of all time as an option,” Roddick said via The Pickleball Slam Instagram.
Steffi Graf finished her illustrious career with 22 Grand Slam singles titles to name, while Andre Agassi boasts eight Grand Slam titles and Roddick has won one Major.
