World No. 14 Mirra Andreeva will take on World No. 38 Clara Tauson in the final of the 2025 Dubai Tennis Championships on Saturday, February 22. The former reached the summit clash with wins over players such as Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Marketa Vondrousova, and others, while the latter defeated top seed Aryna Sabalenka, Karolina Muchova, Elina Svitolina, and others to secure her spot.
This year marks Andreeva's second appearance in Dubai, where she is aiming for her second career title and her first-ever WTA 1000 title. Meanwhile, Tauson previously competed in the tournament once, in 2022, but fell short in the qualifying round. As they gear up for the showdown, we turned to AI to predict the outcome of the highly anticipated clash.
Google's Gemini AI quickly picked Clara Tauson as the favorite to win, citing three key reasons. First, her experience—Tauson has competed at higher levels of the WTA Tour more frequently than her 17-year-old opponent. Second, her form leading up to the final, which included victories over top players like Sabalenka and Muchova.
The third reason provided by the AI is the Dane's playing style, which features a powerful serve and strong groundstrokes. It believes these attributes are well-suited to the conditions in Dubai, giving her an advantage on the fast courts—potentially making things more challenging for the Russian.

The duo have never faced each other on the Tour, meaning their head-to-head record currently stands at 0-0.
Mirra Andreeva & Clara Tauson share their feelings ahead of Dubai Tennis Championships 2025 final

Clara Tauson had one of the best runs of her career at the 2025 Dubai Tennis Championships, adding to an already impressive 2025 season in which she claimed the ASB Classic title.
However, she downplayed her chances against Mirra Andreeva in the final, admitting she was exhausted after her grueling 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3 semifinal victory over Karolina Muchova.
"I’m barely one body anymore," the Dane told Tennis.com. "I’ve never played so many matches in a row, so we’ll see how I wake up tomorrow. I don’t think it’s going to be great, but I’m going to try my best to keep it together in the final."
Meanwhile, during her on-court interview after defeating Elena Rybakina, Andreeva admitted that she wasn’t feeling very “positive” heading into Dubai following her early exit at the Qatar Open. Instead, she chose to go with the flow.
"Honestly it's crazy because at first I was not very positive before coming to Dubai. I was like, 'Okay, well, I'm just going to play.' As always, when you don't think about how you're going to play, you just play your best tennis. In the end, it's one of your best tournaments," she said.
The Russian also expressed confidence in her ability to face Tauson, stating that she knows how to play against her. With the guidance of her coach, Conchita Martínez, she vowed to prepare thoroughly and bring her best level to Saturday’s final.
