Serena Williams this week shared with her fans the dresses she received for her daughters Adira and Olympia. The dresses arrived from the women-founded Ivy City Co, with Christmas around the corner.
Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, welcomed their first daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian on September 1, 2017, before tying the knot on November 16. The couple's second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, was born on August 15, 2023.
Now aged six and one respectively, the siblings often accompany their parents to events, including tennis tournaments and fashion red carpets. On December 11, the 23-time Grand Slam champion showed some Christmas-themed gifts from Ivy City Co. The women-founded brand, which offers over 20 sizes in a single design, sent a teal dress for Adira and holiday co-ord sets for the mother and daughters. Williams took to Instagram stories to share a video with the dresses. She said in the video,
"I just got these really cute girls from Ivy City, which are cute. This is adirable, because it's for Adira. Aww, she has a silk! That's so cute! Thank you! We can be triplets! Oh wait, this is too small for Olympia. She's like a size 2 now"
Recently, the family took a trip to Walt Disney World along with Venus Williams and the two tennis legends' mother Oracene Price. Photos shared by Serena Williams featured the family posing in front of the Magic Kingdom Park, Alexis Ohanian and Serena watching a show, and the legendary sisters posing before the Tron Lightcycle/Run roller coasters. The caption read:
"There’s nothing like a quick family trip to @disneyparks. There no place like Disney"
Serena Williams once tricked her older daughter Olympia into doing homework, followed by a day full of activities
Williams drew a line under her career in 2022, with 23 Grand Slam titles and four Olympic golds the highlight of her career. Two years into retirement, she frequently posts about her fashion exploits and brand campaigns and also shares snippets of time spent with her daughters.
In November 2023, the 43-year-old shared a clip on social media that showed the parenting side of her post-retirement life. She prepared a game for her elder daughter, presenting her with two options to decide the activity she would do. First, she produced two cards with "homework" written on both and helped Olympia with her studies before heading out for a fun day.
Some of the other activities included a mother-daughter pedicure session, playing Roblox, an Escape room visit and a McDonalds treat, among others. Williams captioned the post:
"I wanted to give Olympia a special day. She did cry when she pulled the homework card, but the day got better."
Alexis Olympia Ohanian has followed in the sporting footsteps of her mother, though she has taken an interest in golf rather than tennis.
