The Wimbledon bag policy states that bags with dimensions over 40x30x30cm will not be allowed inside the All England Lawn Tennis Club. There are several other objects that spectators are prohibited to carry into the stadium's premises.

The grasscourt season is upon us after the French Open, which saw Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz crowned the singles champions. The Spaniard will enter Wimbledon as the defending men's singles champion while Marketa Vondrousova will be the same for the women's singles tournament.

Scores of people will assemble at the All England Lawn Tennis Club to watch the world's top tennis players vying for one of the sport's most coveted prizes. Fans will have to follow the grasscourt Major's security protocols and its bag policy, which has a wide range of objects that will not be allowed inside the stadium.

Bags or containers that have hard sides, for instance, picnic boxes, will not be permitted, neither will dual skin liquid containers that have a capacity of over 500ml. Knives, flares, fireworks, sprays are among the items that could compromise the safety of crowds, and they will not be allowed inside the All England Lawn Tennis Club premises.

Camera lenses that are longer than 300mm are prohibited, as are flags above 60x60cm. Items or clothing that carry political messages or disrespectful statements are not allowed, nor are objects like scooters or bicycles.

Illegal substances, selfie sticks, tents and glue are among other items that fans cannot carry when they come to watch Wimbledon.

Rafael Nadal will miss Wimbledon 2024 as he looks to be at his best ahead of the Olympics in Paris. The Spaniard was initially part of the grasscourt Major's entry list but later withdrew from the tournament, citing that it was best for his body to continue to play on clay and not on any other surface.

"With this goal (Olympics), we believe that the best for my body is not to change surface and keep playing on clay until then. It’s for this reason that I will miss playing at the Championships this year at Wimbledon," the Spaniard wrote on social media.

The 38-year-old's last appearance at the London Major came in 2022 when he reached the semifinals. However, he suffered an abdominal injury during his quarterfinal win over Taylor Fritz and was forced to withdraw from his last-four clash, which was supposed to be against Nick Kyrgios.

He did not compete in 2023 due to the hip injury he suffered at the Australian Open, which eventually ended his season prematurely.
