Andy Roddick's wife Brooklyn Decker expressed her excitement and awe about the former World No. 1 starring in a new comedy film centered around the sport of pickleball . Roddick was one of the players who had participated in the inaugural edition of the Pickleball Slam.
The film which is titled "The Dink," will feature the 42-year-old alongside Jake Johnson, Oscar winner Mary Steenburgen and Oscar nominee Ed Harris. The movie will be directed by Josh Greenbaum and the screenplay for the movie has been penned by Ben Stiller's production company, Red Hour Films
Stiller, who is also an avid tennis fan and is frequently seen attending various tennis tournaments, will also make an appearance in a supporting role, adding to the star-studded cast of the film.
This will not be Andy Roddick's first foray into films, as he has previously made cameo appearances in "Just Go with It" alongside his wife Brooklyn Decker . Additionally, he has had small roles in shows like "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" while also being the first male tennis player to host an episode of "Saturday Night Live."
Following the news of Roddick starring in the pickleball comedy film, The Dink coming to light, his wife Brooklyn Decker took to social media to express her admiration for her husband's versatility and talent.
"Jesus, what can't this man do?!" Decker captioned her Instagram story.
Andy Roddick will take part in Pickleball Slam 3 in 2025
Andy Roddick, who was one of the first players to have taken part in the first edition of the Pickleball Slam, which was played in 2023, will also take part in Pickleball Slam 3 which will take place in 2025.
In 2023, Roddick along with tennis legends Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, and Michael Chang took part in the inaugural pickleball slam which took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.
The former US Open champion had teamed up with Agassi while McEnroe partnered with Chang. The pair of Andy Roddick and Andre Agassi defeated the duo of defeated John McEnroe and Michael Chang 3-1 to claim the $1 million prize money.
This year, Agassi joined forces with his wife, Steffi Graf, to win Pickleball Slam 2 by defeating the duo of John McEnroe and Maria Sharapova
Recently, it was revealed that Andy Roddick will be making a comeback for Pickleball Slam 3 which is scheduled to take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on February 16, 2025. Roddick will be teaming up with Eugenie Bouchard and will take on the defending champions, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.
