Felix Auger-Aliassime's loss to Borna Coric after having a 6-0, 2-0 lead at the 2025 United Cup has left tennis fans disappointed. They have discussed how the Canadian, who was once in the upper echelons of the tennis world, has struggled to find his rhythm for so long.
Aliassime burst onto the scene at a very young age and showed tremendous improvements in his early years. The Canadian consistently made deep runs in Majors a few years back. Felix Auger-Aliassime came into the 2025 season with hopes of turning things around and came with guns blazing in his opening match taking a 6-0, 2-0 lead against Borna Coric. The Croatian pulled off an unbelievable comeback to turn things around and level the tie for Croatia 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Fans on social expressed their disappointment with the 24-year-old. One fan called his defeat a 'meltdown'.
"Happy for Borna but man … what a meltdown from Felix. He was up 6-0 2-0," the fan commented.
Another fan opined how these unfortunate results had become normal for the Canadian.

During the post-match interview, Borna Coric was asked how he pulled off this huge turnaround against Felix Auger-Aliassime, to which the Croatian said how positivity was a key to his victory. Coric also claimed that he got lucky, saying:
“I’m not sure either, to be honest. You can tell me maybe… you were watching from upstairs. I came out and wasn’t feeling my serve. It’s very tough to play against him, especially when I’m not feeling my serve. I tried to stay positive. I knew I would have my chances if I stayed positive. I started to serve better and play better. The third set was absolute chaos. In the end, I was a bit lucky.”
Borna Coric's win against Felix Auger-Aliassime leveled the tie between Canada and Croatia to 1-1 after Leylah Fernandez gave the Canadians the lead after comfortably defeating Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-3.
The final match of the tie will be played between the team of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Leylah Fernandez and the team of Ivan Dodig and Donna Vekic.
