Iga Swiatek will compete at the Korea Open from 16 September in Seoul, looking to regain her form after her US Open quarterfinals exit. After that, she will be competing at the China Open in Beijing. Swiatek won the WTA 1000 event in 2023 after her Round of 16 defeat to Jelena Ostapenko at the US Open. After that, she will also be competing at another WTA 1000 event at the Dongfeng Voyah Wuhan Open.

Iga Swiatek boasts an 89% win rate in 2024 with her best performances coming on the clay courts. Regarding her schedule for the rest of the year, after the US Open, Swiatek is looking at a busy remainder. Swiatek's team has confirmed that she will return to compete in Seoul on the WTA Tour.

After her exit from the US Open, Swiatek stated that she does not want to take a considerable break and return to action as soon as possible.

"I don't want to take a break. It's tough. It could be a little bit easier, but I'm keeping up with the schedule. I'm only talking about mandatory tournaments, and there are rules about them. But I'm ready to play till November, I guess unless I'm going to get injured.

Even after her Round of 16 loss at the US Open last year, she won back-to-back titles in Beijing and the WTA Finals, finishing 2023 with 11 consecutive wins. She will be looking to repeat that form, maintain her ranking as the World No.1 in the women's game, and start 2025 on the right foot.

Iga Swiatek had not lost a single set at the US Open before her defeat in the quarterfinals to Jessica Pegula in straight sets, 2-6, 4-6, which is why it was a surprise result for her supporters to witness. Swiatek has not had the best year in terms of Grand Slam performances, as she failed to pass the third round at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

Pegula was seeded sixth in the tournament and finished the runner-up, losing to Aryna Sabalenkna, who also won the Australian Open this year. Swiatek had entered the tournament in good form, being the reigning Roland Garros champion and completing her hat-trick at the major this year.

She had also won the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics but couldn't repeat her 2022 performance at the US Open when she won the trophy. Iga Swiatek will be looking to work on her weaknesses, as she made 41 errors in her most recent defeat against Pegula, and enter the next tournament as her best self.
