Naomi Osaka hilariously expressed disappointment at her physiotherapist and strength trainer clicking selfies at the gym when she struggled in training. Osaka retired in the fourth round of the 2024 China due to a back injury, which also compelled her to end her 2024 season early.
Osaka announced her pregnancy before the 2023 Australian Open, thus missing several tournaments the past year. She returned to the court at the Brisbane International and recorded mixed performances throughout the year, including two quarterfinal finishes. She faced second-round losses to World No. 1 Iga Swiatek at the French Open and Karolina Muchova at the US Open before ending her season in Beijing.
Since returning to training weeks later, Osaka has shared her workout progressions and glimpses of off-court fun activities. On December 20, 2024, she took to her Instagram to hilariously call out her strength trainer and physiotherapist for taking selfies while she struggled to train on the air bike.
"When I'm dying but Flo is taking selfies," the caption said.
Another story featured choreographer Simone Elliott standing atop the Grand Slam winner's abdomen, helping in core strengthening.
Naomi Osaka recently graced the Bazaar Australia shoot for January's cover. Fronting Maybelline's Brave Together, she stunned in Louis Vuitton fits for different cover looks. She also partnered with Etsy as the Etsy Design Awards judge and presented the grand prize to Goril Market.
Naomi Osaka garnered praise from Kevin Hart for her pickleball skills
American comedian and actor Kevin Hart recently welcomed Naomi Osaka for a fun pickleball match at his residence. On his Instagram post, he shared a video of them playing but hilariously blamed the World No. 1 for defeating him.
Nevertheless, Hart expressed gratitude to the latter for being sweet to his family, especially with his kids.
"Word on the street is that I might be a pro in pickle ball …. Ok not really but I’m good damn it…. At least I thought I was until @naomiosaka came over to my house and whooped my ass like I stole something. First game I held my own 11-7 and felt good about myself…." he captioned.
The actor further added:
"The next game she made me understand the true definition of a pro and beat me 11-1 …. I got her right where I want her…. This isn’t over damn it!!!!!! Thank you for coming and being so damn cool and super thank you for being so sweet to my kids!!!!! We love you and can’t wait to watch you kick ass in the Australian open!!!!!"
Naomi Osaka will next take the competition court at the 2025 Australian Open, set to run from January 12 - 26.
