"Where is Iga Swiatek? Do you still remember her?" - Fans slam Roger Federer's latest promo for On with Zendaya over World No. 1 snub

On Running has released a promo with Swiss tennis icon Roger Federer and Hollywood actress Zendaya. Fans, however, are unhappy that On-backed athlete Iga Swiatek did not feature.

Zendaya starred in the tennis-inspired movie "Challengers" which was released in April 2024. Since then, the 27-year-old actress has doubled down on her presence in the tennis world and joined the Federer-backed company, On.

She was announced as the brand ambassador earlier in June and the actress claimed it was a full-circle moment.

“It’s no secret that I’ve been a big fan of On for a long time. I’m always wearing them on set, or when I’m traveling, rehearsing or running around with my dog. So it’s a full-circle moment to make this partnership official,” Zendaya said in a statement.

Federer had welcomed Zendaya on board last month by recreating her iconic poster from the movie. Recently, the pair played a match of 'air tennis' in a new commercial for On. The promo, over a minute long, features the latest collaboration between Federer and Zendaya and has taken the internet by storm.

Many fans, however, pointed out that On sponsors WTA World No. 1 athlete Swiatek and she should have been featured in the promo as well. They reacted to the promo posted by On on X:

"ON thinking iga is just a random person will never be fully," one wrote.

"This match is missing another icon - 1GA," another said.

"What a joke company, they give the same outfit of the last year in wimbledon for their ambassador, the world n.1 and 5 GS champion, believe or not believe, what a shame," a third fan wrote.

Iga Swiatek and Zendaya met each other during the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. In an interview with Eurosport, the actress mentioned that she was 'really lucky' to meet the World No. 1. She also said that Swiatek is similar to her but in a 'different world'.

"Of course, we're similar," Zendaya said. "It's just different worlds. But I have a lot of respect for what it takes to do your work in front of the world, I definitely understand."

Zendaya was in the stands when Swiatek defeated Maria Sakkari in the final at Indian Wells. The pair clicked pictures together afterward.
