Frances Tiafoe is presently competing at the 2025 Australian Open. The American is enjoying the support of his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, during the tournament.
Before his arrival in Melbourne, Tiafoe competed at the Brisbane International, where he suffered a defeat at the hands of French youngster Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. He kicked off his campaign at the Australian Open against French tennis player Arthur Rinderknech on Monday, January 13.
The American, who reached the tournament’s quarterfinals in 2019, would look to better his result this time, with support from his coaching team, including coach David Witt, and his longtime partner, Broomfield.
Frances Tiafoe and Ayan Broomfield started dating in 2015, shortly after the American went pro. The couple is said to have met through mutual friends.
Just like Tiafoe, Broomfield is a tennis player hailing from Canada. Although presently inactive on the tour, the 27-year-old has bagged some exceptional victories in her career. Ayan Broomfield clinched two doubles titles on the ITF circuit, in 2014 and 2015, partnering with compatriots Maria Patrascu and Marie-Alexandre Leduc, respectively.
In 2019, Frances Tiafoe’s girlfriend lifted the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship trophy in doubles, alongside Gabby Andrews, representing the UCLA Bruins.
