Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev, among others, were recently surprised with childhood photos of themselves. All the mentioned players are currently competing at the 2024 Shanghai Masters.

During a press day at the ATP Masters 1000 hard court tournament, the players were asked to autograph photos of themselves without knowing they would be from their younger years. Djokovic, Sinner, Alcaraz, and others were all taken aback by the nostalgic images.

Novak Djokovic, upon seeing his photo, jokingly questioned who the "young handsome fella" in the picture was. The Serb then mentioned that it was from when he was 18 or 19 years old and remarked on how much he had changed since then:

“Oh! Who is this young handsome fella here? I was probably like 18 years? 19? A lot has changed. I definitely have more beard and wrinkles,” the 24-time Grand Slam champion said .

Andrey Rublev and Daniil Medvedev were also presented with a photo of themselves as children at a tournament. Rublev playfully attempted to sign Medvedev's face, while Medvedev reflected on their shared past and said he has fond memories of their junior tennis days.

“Can I sign in face of Daniil [Medvedev]? 2013, I was 15,” Rublev said.
“Andrey already signed it? It was in some competition in juniors and all team competitions in juniors are great memories,” Medvedev said.

Carlos Alcaraz signed a photo of himself standing in front of the Eiffel Tower. Recalling that it was his first trip to Paris and his first time traveling outside of Spain, Alcaraz said:

“This was my first time in Paris. It's the first time that I went out from Spain,” Alcaraz said.

Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner was shown a childhood photo of himself with long hair hitting a backhand shot. He joked that his hairstyle back then was more acceptable than it would be now. Noting his preference for the backhand shot over the forehand, the Italian said:

“Here I was too long [hair] and here’s too short no. I think it [long hair] looks okay when you’re young but now I don’t know. I don’t see myself with this long hair. Always back and never forehand,” Sinner said.
