Fans have reacted to Daria Saville seemingly taking a subtle dig at Iga Swiatek. While some have stood by Saville suggesting that she never meant to take a swipe at the World No. 1, others have opined that even if she unintentionally called Swiatek out, she didn't do much wrong. There were also a few fans of the Pole who aimed Saville.

Daria Saville, an Australian who previously represented Russia, recently shared a POV moment of herself holding up a racket. The former World No. 20 also added a caption, suggesting that the captured moment accurately represents what a serving player sees on the court when the receiving player is unprepared.

Saville shared the moment on TikTok, with the caption:

"POV you're playing against someone who's never ready"

Later, a fan asked the Australian if she was referring to World No. 1 Iga Swiatek, who has previously come under fire from her rivals for behaving similarly. However, Saville responded by writing that Swiatek wasn't in her thoughts when she shared the post, but that the fan's question reminded her of the Pole doing something similar.

"Oh wasn't even thinking about Iga... but actually now I remember lol"

These developments were later shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user.

Some Iga Swiatek fans lambasted Daria Saville over the latter's TikTok post.

"It’s so funny these players try to beef with Iga and she gives 0 f**ks meanwhile your fav Barbora is on Twitter being cringe," wrote one fan.
"Me when my career is in the trenches and I have to mention Iga for people to talk about me," another added.

In the aftermath of such comments, some fans did not take kindly to the Pole's fans who chastized Saville.

"She said truth why Iga fans acting b**chy? During match against Naomi (Osaka at the 2024 French Open). The match I loved. She kept delaying Naomi's serve. I wish players complain," one stated.
"Some Iga fans think everyone is always out to get her. If they are taking it personally, perhaps there is truth to what is being said," weighed in another.

Some fans came to Saville's defense, citing her relationship with Swiatek, and opined that she would have never deliberately taken such a swipe at the Pole.

"Dasha (Saville's nickname) compliments Iga all the time and clearly respects/likes her, she probably just saw that comment and was like "oh she does do that" because she literally does. Everyone would be better off if they calmed down," a fan wrote.
"There are so many receipts, here are just a few," the previous fan added later.
"She didn't mean Iga but people are looking for drama. BTW she is a fan of Iga," another chimed in.

Earlier this year, Daria Saville shared a hilarious post on X through which she wanted to know about Iga Swiatek's skincare routine.

In early May, Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, arguably the two biggest present-day WTA Tour rivals, faced each other in the final of the Madrid Open. It was a thrilling three-set contest, but one which ultimately went the Pole's way.

Daria Saville, who was following the match from afar, quite bizarrely and hilariously wanted to find out how the Pole deals with her skincare. Saville's comments came when the epic final was being played out.

"This might be weird. but i wanna know Iga's skincare routine lol," Saville wrote.
"It's probably just soap and spf... and i'm out here trying every product possible to clear my adult acne lol," she added in another post in the same thread.

Daria Saville and Iga Swiatek have faced each other twice previously on the WTA Tour, with both matches going in the Pole's favor. Their most recent clash came in the second round of the 2023 US Open, which Swiatek won 6-3, 6-3.

The Australian is currently ranked at a lowly World No. 116 in singles. Meanwhile, World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is yet to play following her quarterfinal exit from the 2024 US Open. The Pole recently split with Tomasz Wiktorowski, who coached her for three seasons and guided her to four of her five Grand Slam titles but is expected to rope in his replacement soon.
