Wimbledon 2024 updated odds: Carlos Alcaraz the top contender for men's title heading into the semifinals, Novak Djokovic follows

The 2024 Wimbledon Championships has four men left in the draw. Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev and Lorenzo Musetti are the players who have made it to the semifinal stage after 12 days of high-octane tennis.

Alcaraz was one of the pre-tournament favorites to defend his title. The Spaniard is now the firm favorite after Jannik Sinner's loss to Medvedev in the quarterfinals, As per BetMGM, the current odds for Alcaraz stand at +105.

Novak Djokovic came into this year's Wimbledon after a surgical procedure on his knee. The former World No. 1 was behind Sinner and Alcaraz in terms of being the favorite to win the tournament. However, the Serb found his form as the event went on.

Djokovic dispatched Holger Rune in straight sets in the fourth round, signaling his return to form. After a walkover from Alex de Mianur in the quarterfinals Djokovic reached the last four at the All England Club for the 12th time in his career. His odds stand at +125.

Daniil Medvedev is the third favorite to win the title. The Russian replicated his Wimbledon success from last year by reaching the last four. Like last year, he will face off with Carlos Alcaraz in the semis. Alcaraz beat him easily in straight sets last year but given Medevdev's form and his recent triumph over top seed Sinner, he gives the Russian a fighting chance. His odds stand at +600.

Lorenzo Musetti has had a dream run at this year's Major as the Italian reached his first Grand Slam semfinal. Musetti had a great five-set victory over Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals. He will have his toughest test yet at the event as he faces Djokovic in the semis, against whom he trails 1-5 head-to-head. The Italian's odds stand at +1600.

The distinction of winning the French Open and Wimbledon titles in the same year is referred to as winning the Channel Slam in tennis. Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are the only five men to achieve this feat in men's tennis.

Carlos Alcaraz won his third Major with his triumph at Roland Garros this year. The World No. 3. now has the opportunity to become the youngest men's player to achieve the Channel Slam at 21 years of age. In doing so he will surpass Bjorn Borg who won the French Open and Wimbledon in 1978 at 22 years of age.

Borg remains the only player to have won the Channel Slam three times. He triumphed at both Roland Garros and at the All England Club in 1978, 1979 and 1980.
