Carlos Alcaraz revealed how he is planning to celebrate his Wimbledon 2024 triumph ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, beginning on July 26th. Alcaraz wouldn't have a lot of time as he is slated to play in the Olympics in both singles and doubles alongside his idol Rafael Nadal.

Alcaraz came into SW19 riding high on the success of his French Open triumph. The defending champion was seeded third in the tournament and kicked off his campaign with routine wins against Mark Lajal and Aleksandar Vukic. He survived a five-setter against Frances Tiafoe and won three consecutive four-setters against Ugo Humbert, Tommy Paul, and Daniil Medvedev to reach the final.

The Spaniard set up a rematch of last year's final against Novak Djokovic. But unlike last year, when the two played a thrilling five-setter, the 21-year-old won 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(4) to clinch back-to-back titles.

Carlos Alcaraz recently had a chat with Tennis Channel where he was asked how he was planning to celebrate his Wimbledon triumph and also how his experience in Ibiza was, where he celebrated his French Open win.

The former World No. 1 said that he enjoyed his trip to Ibiza and told his friend, who he went with, that they would make the trip an annual tradition. However, he said that he will celebrate this win at home alongside his family and friends on the off days.

“Well, I talked to my friend that I went to Ibiza with. Last year went pretty well, this year as well, so it's going to be a routine (smiles), you know, every year. But yeah, I had a few days that I could go, (I) went to Ibiza, this one I'm going to celebrate at home,” Alcaraz said. (at 4:17)
“I'm going to stay at home with my friends, my family, but yeah, I will have my days off to celebrate it, you know, pretty well,” he added.

Carlos Alcaraz became the sixth man to complete the Channel Slam i.e. winning the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year in the Open Era. He followed the legends of the game - Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic in doing so.

Earlier in June this year, the Spaniard defeated Alexander Zverev in a five-set thriller to clinch his first Roland Garros title and became the youngest player ever to complete the Surface Slam in the process. He backed it up by defending his Wimbledon title and also completed the Channel Slam.

However, the 21-year-old said that he had a long way to go to sit at the table as the aforementioned names but was honored to be a part of such an illustrious list.

"Not a champion like them, but I am trying to keep going to keep, you know, building my path, my journey, but yeah, it's a huge honor for me," he said at the trophy presentation ceremony.

Carlos Alcaraz will head to Paris next to make his Olympic debut. It will be played on clay at Roland Garros.
