Iga Swiatek playfully teased Maja Chwalińska and Laura Pigossi about their cat-shaped trophy after their victory at the MundoTênis Open. She humorously asked if one of the cat-shaped trophies could be given to her.
On Monday, Maja Chwalińska clinched her first WTA singles title, defeating Ylena In-Albon 6–1, 6–2 in the final of the WTA 125 tournament in Florianópolis, Brazil. She also partnered with Laura Pigossi to win the doubles final, beating Nicole Fossa Huergo and Valeriya Strakhova 7–6(7–3), 6–3.
Following their victory, Chwalińska posted on her Instagram feed to celebrate the win. She mentioned that it was the perfect way to finish her season, and the pictures featured her and Laura Pigossi holding their blue cat-shaped MundoTênis Open trophy.
A few moments later, Iga Swiatek shared the post on her Instagram story congratulating them. She then joked about the trophy being nice and sarcastically asked Chwalińska and Pigossi to give her one.

Iga Swiatek rounded off her impressive 2024 season at the Billie Jean King Cup, following Poland's semifinal exit to eventual champions Italy. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she thanked her team for an extraordinary year, describing it as a season of embracing challenges, hard work, and celebrating milestones.
“Thanks for this season. First and foremost I'm thanking myself and my team because it was another extraordinary year. It was the season of not being a superhero and accepting it, facing new challenges, grinding, hard work, appreciating milestones and unlocking new achievements.” Swiatek said
During the season, Swiatek won five WTA titles, including the Qatar Open, Indian Wells, Madrid Open, Italian Open, and the French Open. She also secured a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics while representing Poland. The Pole added that she was proud of what she achieved this year and needed time to rest and recover
“But what's fundamental, I finish this year with huge satisfaction and pride of my grit, strength and everything that I've done and achieved which says more than any words. It's time to rest and reset. My body and mind need that. Thank you to every kind and supportive human being who is by my side in this journey. See you soon” - Swiatek said
Having finished as No. 1 on the WTA rankings for the past two seasons, Świątek ended this season ranked No. 2, behind Aryna Sabalenka. She also concluded the season with a win-loss record of 61-9.
