Former world No. 1 Martina Navratilova sounded the alarm as future President Donald Trump announced plans to restore the FBI’s integrity by nominating Kash Patel as the Head of the Bureau. Navratilova, known for her outspoken criticism of the Republican Trump administration, did not hold back her concerns.

When Trump, running for president for a second term, decided to back Kash Patel as the head of the FBI, the move sparked speculation, some Republicans voiced concerns, suggesting it was part of Trump’s alleged schemes to use the law enforcement agency as a weapon against his political enemies.

While some of the GOP (Grand Old Party) senators claimed that nominating Patel was an effort to "clean out the FBI," another Senator, Thom Tillis said Patel would help restore the Bureau’s “Integrity.” Amid these debates, Patel’s enemy list surfaced, revealing 60 names—two-thirds of whom were either Trump critics, Democrats, or former senior officials from the Biden administration.

On December 15, Navratilova shared a post on X, quoting an article from The New Republic. She described the Republican candidate’s scheme as:

“This is worse than communist propaganda.”

On a recent episode of the On with Kara Swisher podcast Martina Navratilova was asked whether she planned to enter active politics in the near future, given her outspoken criticism of the Republican government over the years.

Navratilova dismissed the speculations, saying she was too honest and outspoken to be a ‘good’ politician. She added that this quality wouldn’t be tolerated in a woman.

"I’ve been asked many times. But I think truth doesn’t work in politics you know I speak my mind way too much. I think maybe as a guy you can get away with it but as a woman”

In the podcast, the 68-year-old also shared that she might have considered running for office if she were 20 years younger and had more energy.

“I think I am too old for that. 20 years ago, I wish I…, if I was 20 years younger I would run. But I don’t have the energy for it now..”
