Tennis fans were amused after Coco Gauff's serve was mentioned by American rapper Tyler, The Creator in his latest single, "Thought I Was Dead," The song is part of the rapper's upcoming seventh studio album, 'Chromakopia.'

Gauff has had an impressive season, clinching two singles titles. She won the 2024 ASB Classic by defeating Elina Svitolina in the final and later secured the China Open title by defeating Karolina Muchova. She also claimed the French Open doubles title alongside Katerina Siniakova by defeating the Italian duo of Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini in the final

The World No.3 also reached the semifinals at the Australian Open, French Open, BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, Italian Open, and the ecotrans Ladies Open. Her outstanding performances this season also earned her a spot at the 2024 WTA Finals

Meanwhile, Tyler, The Creator recently teased his new single, "Thought I Was Dead," which references Coco Gauff's powerful serve in its lyrics

"B**ch, you ain't Coco Gauff, you can't serve me," Tyler, The Creator's lyrics read.

Following the rapper's mention of Gauff, tennis fans took to social media to share their amusement and opinions.

One fan expressed that they wouldn't have chosen Gauff being the player to highlight serving prowess.

"I would've picked another player 😂 ," a fan posted.

Another fan speculated that Tyler, The Creator may not be a tennis fan, as Gauff's serve has been a point of struggle for her on the court.

"lmao the irony of using her serve as a flex 😭 😭 He clearly doesn’t watch tennis," a fan wrote.

Many fans pointed out that Gauff can't "serve."

"Coco can't serve either 😬 ," a fan posted.
"I love the sarcasm because Coco can't serve t.t," a fan wrote.
"Funny part is she can’t serve either," a fan posted.

One fan stated that highlighting Gauff's serve as a strength may not have been the most accurate portrayal given her recent challenges with it.

"Coco gauff? serve is fhe wrong thing 2 highlight," a fan wrote.
"The irony of this lyric after her last 3 months 😂," a fan posted.

During a press conference following her loss in the semifinals against the eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka, at the 2024 Wuhan Open, Coco Gauff talked about working on her serve in order to improve it.

Gauff revealed that she has been experimenting with new techniques in order to improve her serve going forward

"New things. Yeah, working on a new thing. It's expected. I only had really a week to learn it, then I went to Beijing. I knew it wasn't going to be great . I'm honestly surprised at how well I was able to do with it. We weren't expecting it . So yeah, I mean, overall it's growing pains, ups and downs," Gauff said.

Looking ahead, the 20-year-old will next compete in the 2024 WTA Finals. It will be her third appearance at the season-ending tournament, having previously qualified for the event in 2022 and 2023

Gauff will be competing in the singles event alongside the likes of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini, Jessica Pegula, Zheng Qinwen, and Barbora Krejcikova.
