Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff will look to build on their big opening wins at the 2024 WTA Finals as we enter Day 4 of the tournament. The round-robin action will see players from the Orange Group compete.
Gauff was a comfortable victor over compatriot and former doubles partner Jessica Pegula in her first match, coming through 6-3, 6-2. She currently sits atop the group.
Gauff will now take on Swiatek, a player who boasts a rather lopsided 1-11 head-to-head against her. The only time that the American managed to get a win over Swiatek was on the hardcourt in Cincinnati last year.
The Pole was pushed to the brink in her opening match against reigning Wimbledon champ Barbora Krejcikova. She, however, overcame a slow start to prevail 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.
Meanwhile, Pegula and Krejcikova will also look to get their campaigns back on track as they lock horns with each other in hopes of securing a first win.
Before all that action though, Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe will open play against Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, while Desirae Krawczyk and Caroline Dolehide will face Veronika Kudermetova and Chan Hao-ching in the other doubles match later in the evening.
