The latest edition of the WTA rankings saw limited movement in the last week as most of the top-ranked players were not in action at the Guadalajara Open and the Jasmin Open. However, the bottom half of the top 10 saw some change, as Danielle Collins returned to the Top 10.

Collins did not fare well herself, as she lost in her first match at the Guadalajara Open to eventual runner-up Olivia Gadecki. This saw Collins drop 184 points as had reached the semifinals of the San Diego Open at this time last year and was defending the points from that run. The Guadalajara loss took her points to 3178.

However, the points drop still helped Collins improve her ranking from 11th to 10th as Barbora Krejcikova forfeited her points from winning the San Diego Open last year. The Czech player dropped 470 points and slipped from the 9th position to the 11th in the WTA rankings.

Last week's winners, Magdalena Frech and Sonay Kartal achieved career-high rankings with their victories at the Guadalajara Open and the Jasmin Open respective. Frech scored 452 points from her win in Mexico, which saw her jump 11 places and attain a new career-best ranking of 32.

Sonay Kartal's run at the Jasmin Open, which saw her win her maiden WTA title, earned the Brit 268 points and helped her break into the top 100 for the first time in her career. She is currently the World No. 96

Last week's runner-ups, Olivia Gadecki and Rebecca Sramkova were among the other beneficiaries in the WTA Rankings. Gadecki, who reached the final in Guadalajara as a qualifier, put up an inspired performance as she secured wins over former Major champion Sloane Stephens, and the second seed Danielle Collins. The run to the final saw the Australian gain 343 points taking her to career-best ranking of 88.

Rebecca Sramkova earned 162 points for her run to the final at the Jasmin Open. The points haul saw her jump 34 places in the WTA rankings from 136 to 102. The Slovakian player took out second seed Clara Burel of France on her way to the final in Monastir.

Beatriz Haddad Maia dropped 65 points from her quarterfinal run at the San Diego Open last year, as she lost in the second round this year, losing to eventual champion Katie Boulter. As a result the Brazilian dropped from 16th to 17th, enabling Diana Shanider to climb up to 16th, a career-best ranking for the Russian.
