There's no movement in the upper regions of this week's WTA rankings, though there's a fair amount of upheaval elsewhere. Emma Navarro's breakout season continued after she made the semifinals of last week's Monterrey Open. She moved up a spot to a new career high of No. 12, and a strong showing at the US Open could ensure a top 10 debut.
Linda Noskova was crowned as the champion in Monterrey, and jumped 10 places to claim a new career peak of No. 25. Lulu Sun has proved that her run to the Wimbledon quarterfinals was no fluke. She reached her first WTA final in Monterrey, and while she came up short, a new career high of No. 41 is certainly a decent consolation prize.
McCartney Kessler is the biggest mover in the top 100 of the WTA rankings. The 25-year-old secured her maiden WTA title in Cleveland with a 1-6, 6-1, 7-5 comeback win over Beatriz Haddad Maia in the final. As a result, she zoomed up 35 places to a new career high of No. 63. She was ranked outside the top 400 a year ago, so this is quite an impressive rise.

Ashlyn Krueger (No. 59), Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (No. 74), Erika Andreeva (No. 75), and Renata Zarazua (No. 92) are among the other players to reach new career highs this week.
Iga Swiatek continues to lead the WTA rankings for another week
No top 10 player was in action last week, and players in the region continue to occupy the same position in this week's WTA rankings from a week ago. Iga Swiatek remains on top and is in no danger of being dislodged from her position regardless of whatever happens at the US Open.
Swiatek has enough of a lead that she will leave New York as the No. 1 even if Aryna Sabalenka, her closest challenger for the top spot, wins the US Open. Coco Gauff, the World No. 3 and the defending champion, could drop out of the top five unless she makes a deep run here.
Jelena Ostapenko, ranked No. 10 in this week's WTA rankings, could exit the region if she bows out early from the US Open. She's defending quarterfinal points, and with a first-round date against Naomi Osaka, the Latvian could very well make a quick exit this time.
