"Y'all set the bar too low for me" - Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian remarks on earning credits for looking after his wife & children

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian was credited for taking care of his wife and children. The Reddit co-founder remarked that the bar was set too low for him, indicating that looking out for his family is a basic requirement.

Serena Williams is in Paris with her husband and elder daughter Olympia for the 2024 Olympic Games. On the red carpet before the opening ceremony, Ohanian was spotted holding an umbrella over Williams as it rained in the French capital.

The 41-year-old was described as a 'personal umbrella holder' of the 23-time Grand Slam champion by a Eurosport commentator. Although it is unknown if the comment was made knowing who Ohanian is, the joke reached the Reddit co-founder's Instagram account.

He posted an image of himself holding an umbrella for his daughter Olympia. In the caption he mentioned:

"I’m also Olympia’s personal umbrella holder."

In the comments on the post, Ohanian received credit for looking out for his family. An Instagram account wrote:

"Real men look after their wives and children!❤️❤️❤️❤️"

Ohanian joked that to receive credit he has to merely look out for his family and claimed that the bar was set too low for him.

"Y'all set the bar too low for me celeb dads get flowers just for *acknowledging* they have kids," Ohanian wrote.

Serena Williams arrived on the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony red carpet with her husband Alexis Ohanian and elder daughter Olympia. Ohanian held an umbrella over Williams' head and a Eurosport commentator said:

"She looks absolutely incredible, she’s got someone just behind us holding an umbrella. Those are the levels you aspire to, to have an actual umbrella holder behind you."

Ohanian was made aware of the comments and took to his Instagram account to joke about it. The Reddit co-founder posted an image of himself with Williams and Olympia and captioned it:

"Olympia. Serena. Serena's Personal Umbrella Holder. 😂 Let the games begin! I'll be watching a lot of T&F to soak up @athlos inspiration. 🥇"

The four-time Olympic gold medalist's family is getting into the Olympic spirit in Paris. They were recently spotted cheering for the swimmers as they watched the 200m freestyle semifinal and men's 100m breaststroke final.
