Serena Williams recently shared her excitement following Lewis Hamilton's ninth British Grand Prix win. Since the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021, the British driver had not won a race in the Formula One championship.
Outside of tennis, Williams, who hung up her racket in 2022, is also fond of Formula 1. The 23-time Grand Slam winner has been seen attending races in the past and was present at the 2023 Miami Grand Prix alongside her sister Venus. The sisters took pictures with Roger Federer and a host of celebrities as well.
After Sunday's race, Hamilton celebrated his win on Instagram with the following post:
“YES 🍾🍾🍾 945 days since the last win and it’s finally come home. SILVERSTONE I LOVE YOU. There’s no crowd that deserves this more. This is love, this is family. Thank you all for the love and support. Massive shout to the team as well. Everyone in the garage and back at the factory have given long hard hours for this result. It’s not been easy but it’s brought us back to back wins for the team. Most importantly we didn’t lose hope. We didn’t give up. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU KEEP GOING. STILL WE RISE," he wrote.
Serena Williams, who has been close friends with the British racer, expressed her excitement and lauded Hamilton's performance in the comment section.
"Don't let anyone tell you what you can't do you better than everyone! Seeeeee?? I see!" Serena Williams said.
