Nicolas Jarry is a professional tennis player who has won three ATP singles and two doubles titles in his career so far. Born on October 11, 1995, in Santiago, Chile, Jarry comes from a family with a deep love for sports. He is the grandson of the former ATP player Jaime Fillol and the nephew of Álvaro Fillol. Also, his aunt, Catalina Fillol, is the tournament director of the ATP 250 event Chile Open.

Jarry achieved his career-high ranking of No. 16 in May 2024. He won his first ATP singles title at the Swedish Open in 2019, where he defeated Juan Ignacio Londero in the final. He won that tournament without losing a single set.

Jarry started the current season on top note, including reaching the quarterfinal of the 2024 Chile Open and the 2024 Adelaide International. He registered his 100th career win by defeating Stan Wawrinka in the fourth round of the 2024 Argentina Open. With the win, he became the eighth man in the Open Era to accomplish this goal. In the semifinal, he registered a win against World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz.

The Chilean Olympic Committee selected rower Antonia Abraham and Jarry to be the flag bearers for their country at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. He made it to his first Masters 1000 final at the 2024 Italian Open, where he was defeated by Alexander Zverev. He became the first player from Chile to reach a Masters final since González in 2007.

Jarry is currently the No. 1 Chilean tennis player and has represented his country in many events. Since 2013, he has been a crucial part of the Chile Davis Cup team.
