It marked only the second time Nadal lost a match at Roland Garros following a fourth-round reversal to eventual finalist Robin Soderling in 2009. It remains the only straight-set defeat for Nadal, who has since gone on to win 21 more matches on the red dirt, swelling his glittering 15-year Roland Garros reign to 93 wins, 2 defeats, and a staggering 12 titles.
