Rome, May 16: Serbian World No.1 Novak Djokovic qualified to the semifinals of the Italian open after eliminating the Japan's Kei Nishikori, media reported on Saturday.
The defending champion defeated Nishikori, ranked 6th in the world, in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 victory in one hour and 48 minutes, Efe reported.
In six clashes between the two players, Djokovic has won four, two of which were on clay, including the Friday's triumph.
Nole will be playing the semifinals against Spaniard David Ferrer, who qualified after eliminating Belgian David Goffin in a match that ended 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
