Alexander Zverev vs Tallon Griekspoor preview
Third seed Alexander Zverev will take on Tallon Griekspoor in the second round of the Paris Masters.
Zverev has had an outstanding season this year. After a semifinal run in the Australian Open, he clinched the Italian Open in Rome and secured a runner-up finish in Paris. He also reached the finals of the Hamburg European Open, but lost to Arthur Fils in a close encounter and missed the title.
The German will enter Paris on the back of a quarterfinal exit in Vienna. He outfoxed the likes of Joel Schwaerzler and Marcos Giron en route to the last eight, but couldn't get past Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian defeated Zverev in a thrilling three-set bout, 2-6, 7-6(5), 6-4.
Tallon Griekspoor, meanwhile, has had a hectic season this year. He's garnered 32 wins from 59 matches, including semifinal runs in the Rotterdam Open, Libema Open and the Stockholm Open. He also reached the quarterfinals of the Geneva Open where he lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
The Dutchman entered Paris after a disappointing first-round exit in Basel. He kicked off his campaign with a strong 6-3, 6-4 win against Luciano Darderi. Griekspoor will be eager to make a significant impact in his second appearance at the Paris Masters.

Alexander Zverev vs Tallon Griekspoor prediction
Alexander Zverev was one of the first players to qualify for this year's ATP Finals. He also performed exceptionally well at the Majors, but couldn't pass the final few hurdles to lift a title. The German will be hoping to put up a clinical performance in Paris and set the tone for the year-end championships next month.
Griekspoor, meanwhile, has shown glimpses of his top potential at select events this year. He will need to raise his level even further to challenge the top 15 players on tour. The Dutchman has a versatile all-around game and solid decision-making skills on court.
Considering their recent results and record on hard courts, Zverev is a clear favorite to come out on top. There aren't too many better than the German while rallying from the baseline and the wide courts in Bercy should help his cause. Griekspoor may present a stern challenge, but the third seed should continue his dominance against the Dutchman and begin with a win in Bercy.
Pick: Zverev to win in straight sets.
