Petra Kvitova is a professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. A feisty left-hander, she is known to be one of the most technically sound players in the world. Kvitova has achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 2 in the world, and has been around the circuit for well over a decade. In 2011, Petra Kvitova won her first Grand Slam, by defeating Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-4 in the final. She was the No.8 seed at the 2011 Wimbledon, and defeated the likes of Roberta Vinci, Alexa Glatch, Tsvetana Pironkova and former champion Victoria Azarenka to reach her first major final.
Petra Kvitova won her second Grand Slam tournament at the 2014 Wimbledon. She comfortably won her first two matches against Mona Barthel and Andrea Hlavackova. She was the No. 6 seed at the tournament, and faced a tough third round match against Venus Williams, which Kvitova won in three sets. She defeated Eugenie Bouchard in the final to lift the Wimbledon trophy for the second time.
When Did Petra Kvitova Win the Hopman Cup?
Petra Kvitova won the Hopman Cup in 2012. Playing alongside Tomas Berdych, the pair defeated Marion Bartoli and Richard Gasquet, who were representing France, in the final. Kvitova also registered a win in all singles matches at the tournament and defeated Marion Bartoli, Caroline Wozniacki, Bethanie Mattek and Tsvetana Pironkova.
