At the Dallas Open, Opelka defeated John Isner in the semifinal, playing a 46-point tiebreak in the second set, the longest tiebreak at the ATP level. He reached his first Masters 1000 final at the 2021 Canada Open, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinal.
