Roger Federer will be playing in the Monte Carlo Masters after he accepted their wild card invitation.
This inclusion will surely add more interest to the tournament in which Federer has not featured for the last two years. His last match there was in 2011 where he was defeated in the semi-finals by Jurgen Melzer.
The 32-year-old lost three consecutive finals at Monte Carlo between 2006-08 at the hands of rival Rafael Nadal.
The first title of the year for the Swiss came at Dubai, where he beat Novak Djokovic in the semi-final en route to the title. But the Serb got the better of him at the BNP Paribas Open final last month. He also lost to Lleyton Hewitt at the Australian Open final in early January.
The tournament is set to kick off this coming Sunday.
