The Men’s Doubles pairing of Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea crashed out of the 2016 Australian Open, losing in straight sets 6-4 6-3 to Treat Huey and Max Mirnyi in the third round on Sunday.
The Indo-Romanian pair served as many 8 aces in the match and had the upper hand in the number of break points converted but barring these two stats, had a completely off- day, serving a total of 8 double faults and got just 54% of their first serves in as compared to 76% of their opponent.

Although they had more number of winners, they fell short on the total number of points won(61) to 75 of their opponents and 23 unforced errors also didn't help their cause.
While his loss in the Men’s Doubles was certainly disappointing, Bopanna moved into the second round in the Mixed Doubles category, where, partnering Yung-Jan Chan, he beat the hometown pair of Kimberly Birrell and John Millman 7-5, 6-1 in 48 minutes.
