Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Jannik Sinner preview
Top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas will face Jannik Sinner in the second round of the ABN AMRO Open on Thursday, February 16.
Tsitsipas has had a brilliant start to the season, winning 11 out of 12 matches so far. He helped Greece reach the semifinals of the United Cup. He then reached his second Grand Slam final at the Australian Open, where he lost 6-3, 7-6(4), 7-6(5) to Novak Djokovic.
Tsitsipas then entered the ABN AMRO Open as the top seed and faced Emil Ruusuvuori in the first round. The latter made the first break of the match in the fifth game of the opening set but the World No. 3 broke back. Tsitsipas made another break to take the first set 7-5. He dominated the second set and won it 6-1 to book his place in the second round of the ATP 500 event.
Sinner, meanwhile, started the 2023 season at the Australian Open where he reached the fourth round before losing a tense five-set encounter against Tsitsipas. He then entered the Open Sud de France in Montpellier as the second seed and did not play a single match before the quarterfinals.
Sinner beat compatriot Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 6-2 in the last eight before defeating Arthur Fils 7-5, 6-2 to set up a clash against Maxime Cressy in the final. Here, he triumphed 7-6(3), 6-3 over the American to win his seventh ATP singles title.
The Italian then competed at the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam and booked his place in the second round with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 win over Benjamin Bonzi.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Jannik Sinner prediction
Tsitsipas will enter the match as the favorite to win given his recent form and head-to-head record against Sinner. However, the Italian is more than capable of giving the Greek a run for his money considering his talent and how hard he fought in the Australian Open.
Tsitsipas was very strong on his first serve in his first-round match against Ruusuvuori, serving nine aces and winning 27 out of 39 points. He also hit 19 winners while accumulating only eight unforced errors.
The Greek will look to make the most out of his serve and one-handed backhand. If he can maintain control in the unforced-error department, there's hardly any stopping him.
While Sinner endured a tough match against Bonzi, he was impressive on his serve, serving seven aces and winning 53 out of 78 points. He also hit 35 winners while producing only three unforced errors.
The Italian's aggressive baseline game has been very useful for him at times and he has a fair chance of winning if he is at his best.
However, it's hard to rule out Tsitsipas winning given his current form.
Pick: Tsitsipas to win in three sets.
