Naomi Osaka will take on Bianca Andreescu in the quarterfinals of the Libema Open on Friday, June 14.

The Japanese entered the WTA 250 event after suffering a narrow second-round defeat to eventual champion Iga Swiatek in the second round of the French Open. She started with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Elise Mertens to reach the second round.

Here, the 26-year-old faced Suzan Lamens and took the lead in the match after breaking serve twice in the opening set. Osaka broke serve twice again in the second set to seal a 6-2, 6-2 victory and book her place in the quarterfinals of the Libema Open.

Bianca Andreescu entered the tournament in 's-Hertogenbosch after losing to eventual runner-up Jasmine Paolini in the third round of the French Open. The Canadian faced Netherlands' Eva Vedder in the first round of the Libema Open and found herself a set down.

However, she bounced back to register a 4-6, 6-3. 6-2 win and set up a second-round clash against sixth seed Yue Yuan. Andreescu's break of serve in the seventh game of the opening set saw her take the lead in the match.

Both players have looked in good nick so far throughout the tournament but Osaka's recent run of form has been promising, not to forget both of her wins have come in straight sets. Having said that, Bianca Andreescu herself can be quite formidable when at her best and should not be written off.
