Sania Mirza lost in the Women’s Doubles competition, Wimbledon 2011 as she and her partner Elena Vesnina exited in the semi finals of the competition. They were completely outclassed by their opponents.
The fourth seeded pair lost their semi-finals clash against the second seeded pair of Kveta Peschke of the Czech Republic and Katarina Srebotnik of Slovakia in straight sets where the score read 6-3, and 6-1. The fourth seeded pair looked in some discomfort as they were not playing their free flowing tennis in the competition, for which they had to suffer by losing a place in the finals of the competition. It was for the first time that Sania Mirza had reached the semi finals of the doubles competition in her previous Wimbledon outings.
The duo of Peschke and Srebotnik served them out on most occasions as the fourth seeded pair could not serve well throughout the game. Though, Sania played some powerful game from the baseline at times, she was not consistent at all. Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik have thus managed to reach the finals of the ladies doubles competition, Wimbledon 2011. They would be playing the winner of the other semi-finals, where Sabine Lisicki, would be partnering Samantha Stosur and Marina Erakovic would be partnering, Tamarine Tanasugarn. The final is expected to be a cracker.
